FIS MUN

Model United Nations

is an educational simulation of the United Nations, where students come together to represent different countries and discuss global issues in a way that mirrors real diplomatic proceedings. This model aims to develop participants’ negotiation, public speaking, research, and conflict resolution skills.

How Does Model United Nations Work?

- Role Assignment: Each participant is assigned a country to represent in a specific committee, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly.
- Research Preparation: Participants study their assigned country's policies on the given topics.
- Debates and Discussions: Delegates engage in formal discussions, following diplomatic procedures.
- Drafting Resolutions and Decision-Making: Delegates propose resolutions and vote on them to address global issues.

Benefits of Model United Nations:

- Increases research and writing skills: Encourages in-depth research on global issues and drafting resolutions.
- Promotes time management: MUN conferences typically have tight schedules, improving participants' ability to prioritize tasks.
- Enhances public diplomacy: Teaches participants how to represent countries diplomatically and foster positive relations.
-Improves communication skills: Encourages clear, concise speaking, and persuasive argumentation.
